I'm interested in applying to NCSSM Morganton, are there any resources that I can access now?
  • FIRST Tech Challenge official website has information on starting a team, game rules, and competition events.
  • Game Manual 0 is a great resource for members and teams new to FTC. It has information on team organization, hardware, and software.

I'm an incoming student at NCSSM Morganton, how can I join?

Our team runs booths at both Welcome Day and the Club Fair early in the school year. We have an interest form available then, and will send out emails and reminders about our interest meeting! After that, we have an application process for new members. Please take your time when filling it out, as it is our main way of assessing new members - and feel free to reach out with any questions!

Where does the name Aperture Science come from?

The hit video game Portal (2007) and Portal 2 (2011) released by Valve Corporation features portal-based physics platforming, apocalyptic killer robots, and an evil corporation - of course, named Aperture Science.
We promise our robots are much nicer.

Have you played Portal?

Unfortunately, not everyone on the team has played Portal yet.
Should we kick them out? Let us know your opinion!

Who's your favorite character from Portal?

Wheatley.
