Team #5064 Aperture Science is grateful to have received $2000 from the Gene Haas Foundation and $1200 in volunteer matching from our valuable mentor, Mr. Halihan at Microsoft.
Outreach
Community outreach plans for this season were drafted during the summer. They include separating our outreach into different initiatives, such as our Western NC Initiative from last year. Our plans include connecting with FTC teams in our area, conducting surveys on women in the program, hosting robot demonstrations, creating online resources, and mentoring other teams. We will begin to take action on our plans after our 2 week junior training period.
Membership and Recruitment
After an interest meeting, a form application, in-person interviews, and several review sessions, we have successfully invited 4 new members to the team, making us a group of 9 passionate roboticists. For the next 2 weeks, we will train our juniors using workshops hosted by each sub-team, ensuring that they are ready for the start of the season!
Upcoming Events
On September 6th, we will attend the NC FTC Kick-off ceremony in Greensboro, where we will present 4 workshops to NC teams and witness the season game reveal. Additionally, we are preparing to volunteer at the Bull City FIRST Lego League scrimmage in October.
